I am still trying to get adjusted to having a 5 year old around all day. I am really tired. Getting up at 5:30am, driving 40 minutes to take Cameran to school and 40 minutes back. Then I make the same trip in the afternoon. Thankfully there are only about 3 weeks left of school.
Cameran seems to be okay with being here. It’s peaceful for him. He is not getting yelled at by his mom all the time so he is calmer.
Jocelynn is just funny. Yesterday she walked into the living room and asked my mom (who also lives in this household) “Where is your daughter at?” She was talking about me, her grandma, but it was just so funny the way she said it. Later in the afternoon she told me she didn’t like me anymore because I bossed her around. I asked her who was supposed to be her boss and she said “Nobody. I am 5 years old. I don’t need a boss. I can do what I want.” Yep, like that’s really going to happen. Unfortunately, for the past year she has been allowed to just run free and do whatever all day because her mom just didn’t pay any attention or did not care what she did.
It’s a learning experience, but we are getting there. Will get a well needed break this weekend when the kids go to their mom’s and Virgil will be home.
When I got home from taking Cameran to school this morning, Mom told me that the Sheriff was here at 7:20am to deliver a court summons to Jeffrey for child support. He scared her to death. I’m out on the road taking Cameran to school and the first thing she thinks is that I have had an accident.
So dummy Ashley went up and filled out paperwork to get food stamps and cash assistance before Jeff ever moved out. He has been paying the bills, fixed the car for her and did not start moving out until this past Saturday, April 25th. He has the receipt from the storage place showing that he just rented it on the 25th. They paperwork is dated April 21. Then she lied to them and told them she has been the sole support for the boys. What a morron. I told him, “son, you need to get the babysitter to write out and sign a statement that you have paid for the babysitting for the last 6 weeks. You need to prove that you have been paying all the bills and that you did not move out of the house until April 25th. She will be in deep doo doo then because she lied to the child support agency and welfare. I seriously don’t understand these girls anymore. They are 30 years old, do not want to take care of the children that they “wanted” to have, want to party like they are 20 and want a man to support them while they do what they want. Incredible.
Well, time to see what tomorrow brings. One thing about it, there is never a dull day at my house anymore.

4/24/2015 JOCELYNN
So this is the discussion with my 5 year old granddaughter this morning.
Jocelynn: “Dad’s cousin took Axle (their dog)back to Mom’s house last night. Now we have to find somebody to take her cause we have to move. I’m going to live with Mom until she falls back in love with Dad. Mom doesn’t love Dad anymore. They used to be nice to each other but now they are mean to each other. They yell and I keep yelling at them to quit yelling.
I asked her: “Do they stop yelling when you

tell them that?”
Jocelynn: “No and it makes me mad. They just need to be nice to each other.
Unfortunately, I don’t think Jocelynn understands that she is going to be staying here with me for a while and not with her mom. Her brother Cameran (13) will be here and also Dad, so hopefully she will be okay. I feel so bad for these kids. Hopefully, Grandma (me) can love them and shower them with enough attention that it won’t hurt them quite so bad.

4/23/2015 FUN TIMES AHEAD
Let the games begin. This weekend both my boys will be moving in with me. Joey, Cameran and Jocelynn will be here full time. Jeff and his kids (or at least 3 of them) will be here every other weekend when Jeff is home. He drives truck OTR and is only home every other weekend. Those weekends will be loud and wild I’m sure.
I definitely have to spend more time tomorrow getting the rest of the house organized so we have room for everybody. Wish me luck.
More updates to come. This is definitely going to be different.

4/22/2015 JOEY
Today is Joey and Sherri’s 9th anniversary. They have been together for 15 years. I do not know why Sherri is tearing her family apart. I do not understand why she doesn’t even seem to care about her kids. I want to bang her head against a wall and tell her that someday she will regret what she is doing now. Her 13 year old son is angry at her and her 5 year old daughter does not understand why she is living at Grandma’s and is not with her mom. WAKE UP SHERRI!! What you are doing right now might be impossible to undo if you don’t wake up. You are not only tearing my son up inside, you are hurting your children. What kind of mother are you?
4/21/2015 MY BFF
Today was a great day. Today I got to spend a few hours with my bestest friend in the whole wide world. Kathy Huff and I have been friends for 30+ years. She and her husband Keith have lived in Fort Fairfield, Maine for many years now and I miss her. We met when we were both young mothers with two children each. Then I had my third child (my second son) and after that she had two daughters.
When we first met, her husband Keith and my ex-husband Jeff became fast friends. Kathy and I hit it off like wildfire. We spent so much time together, every weekend. I remember all the weekends sitting up all night on Friday night playing Euchre and laughing and talking. We were at their house or they were at ours.
We were so poor back in those days but we had so much fun. As our children grew a little older our lives separated somewhat. They were involved in the church and Jeff and I divorced. On Thursday evenings, Kathy and her children would come to my house. While all the kids played, she and I would play Yahtzee and talk for hours. I miss those days so much sometimes that it is really hard.
She is home for a visit for a month and I hope to get to spend more time with her before she returns to Maine. This visit was so reminiscent of early days, that It brought back a lot of memories. She had her grandchildren with her and I had my granddaughter Jocelynn with me. They played very well together and Jocelynn cried when we had to leave. I wanted to cry too.
Our lives seem to run parallel to each other. Both of our oldest children, sons, each have 5 children. Both boys are now married for the second time. My son Joey and his wife Sherri are in the process of splitting up and Kathy’s daughter Rachel will be divorced from her husband at the end of May. Our children have endured so much heartache.
When our kids were little, Kathy and I used to think it would be really cool if her oldest son Andy and my daughter Amanda (Mandy) would get together when they were older and we would have the same grandchildren. Andy and Mandy. Get it? Anyway, that didn’t happen but a couple of years ago we found out that her daughter Rachel and my son Joey really liked each other when they were younger. Wish we had seen that one so we could have encouraged that. Now they are both splitting from their spouses. Could it be? Nah. Rachel lives in Missouri and Joey is here in Ohio. I guess we will just have to leave that up to God. I want Joey to find happiness again.
Anyway, a super wonderful visit with my buddy Kathy. I love you lady. I have always loved you. I wish you were back in Ohio.

4/17/2015 UPSIDE DOWN
WOW!!!! The last 11 days have been wild. Joey and Jocelynn, (Joey's 5 year old daughter) my granddaughter have been with us for 2 weeks now. This has definitely changed my every day lifestyle as I am taking care of Jocelynn. It has been a long, long time since I had a 5 year old in the house full time.
And Jeff will now be here every other weekend when he is home and will have his children, the youngest 2 being 5 and 4. That is really going to be crazy. Jeff is an OTR truck driver so is on the road for 2 weeks, then home for a weekend, then back out.
I believe Jeff and Ashley are through. And she brought it on herself. I can't even feel sorry for her after everything she has put Jeff through. And this was his second go at marriage. Now 37, going through his 2nd divorce and a total of 5 children. That's just nuts. I told him he needed to wait at least 10 years before he even thinks about hooking up with another woman. And the next time, look for a mature one.
My heart hurts for Joey. Sherri is his one true love. They have been together since he was 16 and she was 15. They got pregnant while still in high school, didn't get married until Cameran was 4-1/2. They have been through some really tough times, including a miscarriage. Now, after a 15 year relationship, Sherri has decided this is not what she wants. Trouble is, she doesn't have a clue what she does want. Therefore, I have Jocelynn while she is sitting around doing nothing. Not working, not working towards her GED, and definitely not taking care of her adorable little girl.
Now this little girl has kept me in stiches for the last 2 weeks. She is so funny. And what a little work horse. No matter what I am doing, she wants to help and she does an excellent job. I don't understand how her mom can stand to be away from her. Cameran would be here too if not for school. I live about 40 minutes away and that is a long commute everyday to get him back and forth to school. Fortunately, he is 13 and he and Joey have had long talks about what is going on with Sherri so I think, I hope and I pray, that Cameran will be okay. It's a lot for a 13 year old to deal with. At that age, he already has enough to deal with.
I love my kids. I love my grandchildren. All I want for them is to have a happy life. I hope that will happen one day soon for all of them.
Time for bed. Night-night.

4/7/2015 Dad In Hot Water for Building Cool Fort for Kids
Joey and the kids have been with us for the past 3 nights. I hope Sherri will realize what she will be missing out on.
Here is something I just read and responded to. Our government has gotten to far out of control.
In Utah, Jeremy Trentelman’s kids, including 2-year-old Story, have been loving the cardboard fort he built for them in the yard. Town officials? Not so much. (Photo: Jeremy Trentelman)
A father in Utah who expressed his playful side by building a massive cardboard-box fort in the yard for his kids last week has since been dealing with a serious killjoy: his city of Ogden, which has warned him to disassemble the fort by April 13 or face fines for the structure being in violation of building codes.
“The whole thing is just ridiculous,” Jeremy Trentelman, a professional floral designer and father of two, tells Yahoo Parenting. “I thought I was just building a fort out of cardboard, tape and a little love, but apparently it’s making a statement.”
Trentelman built the fort for his kids, Max 3 ½ and Story, 2, after collecting several five-foot-by-four-foot boxes, which had held botanical trees, from the home and garden center where he works. “I had warm, positive memories from my childhood about forts, and thought it was a great way to spark imagination, away from the TV,” he says.
But shortly after finishing the construction, which features a centerpiece of a yellow plastic slide, the city of Ogden delivered a warning, signed by code enforcer Gordon Sant. Though not a citation, the official letter noted that Trentelman was in violation for having “waste materials or junk” in his yard. It gave him 14 days to remove the fort or pay a $125 fee; he also had the option of paying $25 to contest it. He considered that at first, but then had a change of heart
MY COMMENT:
Building Codes???? Are you kidding me? It's a temporary play fort for children. Do they need a permit to set up a swingset? This whole town should get together and march on the town square. GET OUT OF OUR DAILY LIVES GOVERNMENT!!!! I think it is time the American people take back our lives and make the government realize who they work for. We pay their salaries. Therefore, we ARE the boss and it is high time we started behaving as such. I hear more and more ridiculous stuff each and every day of how the government is inserting themselves into our lives. GET OUT!!!! GET OUT!!!!
