Wow! There have been so many semi and truck related accidents this winter. The huge increase in accidents is due to not keeping the roadways free of snow and ice. The reason for this? Salt and related products doubled in price this year. Those trucks are heavy. They can not stop and/or slow down as quickly as your car can. Probably the driver in front was going excessively slow because he has no experience and the truck coming from behind realized his extra slow driving too late and could not get slowed down fast enough. Unfortunately, these drivers are being put on the road after a 3 week CDL class, with little to no extra training. Until you have actually been behind the wheel of a semi, you truly have no idea. I have never driven one, but have ridden in a couple of them. I come from a long line of Product Relocators, (you call them trucker). It is a very hard job and people on the road no longer have any respect for those big huge trucks that can smash them in a heartbeat. Give the truck plenty of space, do not jump right in front of them, realize they have to make wide right turns and just try to be respectful of a piece of machinery that can kill you. Are you really in such a hurry to die that you have to cut them off?
