CAN YOU BELIEVE IT??? In a couple of days 2009 will be only a memory and we will usher in the year 2010 with great expectations and great hope for what is to come. With the new year soon to be here, it is a wonderful time to sit back and contemplate on what each of us has accomplished in the past year and and plan on what we would like to accomplish in the new year. It is also the perfect time to really be thankful for our blessings, large and small.
Each day that I get up (amidst some grumbling and groaning on my part), it is another day to be thankful that I CAN get up.
Some are not so fortunate.
Each day that my Mom is alive and healthy is a day to be thankful.
Some are not so fortunate.
Each day that my children and grandchildren are on this earth, even though they each go through their own trials and tribulations, it is a day that I am thankful.
Some are not so fortunate.
Each day that we have food on the table (and some of us obviously have more than we actually need) is a day to be thankful.
Some are not so fortunate.
Everytime I get to talk to or see a member of my family is a blessing and a reason to be thankful.
Some are not so fortunate.
Each day that I have a job to go to is a reason to be thankful.
Some are not so fortunate.
Each day that I can enjoy the freedom of being an American is a day that I am thankful.
Some are not so fortunate.
Today I can see the sky, touch the earth, and be aware of my surroundings. I am very thankful.
Some are not so fortunate.
I AM BLESSED each and every day because I am alive, healthy and free to choose by own destination.
Some are not so fortunate.
If you are loved, and love in return, be thankful.
Some are not so fortunate.
2009 is coming to a close...2010 opens new doors for each of us. Put the past in the past, remember the good times, be thankful for the hard times because those times teach us what we type of person we have become, but most of all THANK GOD for all the blessings in your life. Each and every one, no matter how small it may seem, because someday the small blessings could turn into large blessings.
May each and everyone of you have a WONDERFUL, FANTASTIC, BLESSED NEW YEAR!!!
