AS THE WORLD TURNS
Mom, Amanda, Taylor and I had a good time together on July 17th. Just a few short hours to spend together. Wasn't long enough, but we had fun. Amanda left the following Saturday for a week's vacation with hubby, step-son and in-laws to the beach at Ocean City, MD. I am so glad she got that opportunity.
Joey is now working. I hope all goes well for him and his family. They so deserve to have a few good things happening to them. They have had a really rough couple of years.
3 weeks ago we found out that my beloved brother-in-law, Jerry Burchett, has cancer. I don't know how bad it is for sure, but it doesn't sound promising. I think he and Jody are going to be in for a really rough time.
I am concerned about him and how they are going to manage financially. He's a really good guy and it is so sad that he will have to go through this.
I have been hired on full-time at my job (no longer a temp). YEAH!! :)
Today was shocking. One minute your world is fine and the next it is turned totally upside down. Today Virgil was let go from his job. I have no idea what we are going to do now. Our lease on this place is up the end of September. We were planning on moving, but I can't see that happening now. Looks like we'll be stuck here for another year, but I don't know how we will handle all the bills without his income. He has so many skills, but the job market is not great right now. I am concerned, but I don't want to him to know that I am worried about it. He's pretty upset and doesn't need to deal with my insecurities right now.
On the upside, 2 weeks ago, we kept Jeffrey, Taylor, Nash and Cameran for the weekend. I LOVE THOSE BABIES SO MUCH!!! They are growing up so fast. We had a little birthday party for Nash while they were here. Virgil took Nash shopping and bought him a new book bag for school and a hat. While they were gone, the other 3 kids and I did a little shopping too. We decided to have a scavenger hunt. Taylor wrapped Nash's gift, Jeffrey made up and wrote out all the clues, and Cameran kept Nash busy downstairs playing video games while we got everything ready. It was lots of fun and I think the kids all enjoyed having a special part in all of it.
On the downside, Mom's riding mower was stolen right out of her backyard last week. Thank goodness for renter's insurance. At least she was able to replace it. But I worry about her being in that house all alone. So many things could happen. I worry about her all the time. I want to keep her safe and happy, but how to do that? She is so stubborn about things. She doesn't want to move because she can't afford higher rent and she won't move any further away from her church. Please, Lord, keep mama safe.
Hopefully I can get some sleep tonight as I have to be at work at 6:00am tomorrow. So glad it's Friday and we can take the weekend to make some decisions on our next step. Take care all.
Debbie
